Full Mouth Rehabilitation involves the Reconstruction or Restoration of the Teeth Occlusion. It includes the restoration of the relationship of the upper jaw with the lower jaw during function and at rest with the help of crowns, bridges, dentures, inlays and onlays. Occlusion in Dentistry means the contact between teeth. Technically, it is the relationship between the upper and the lower teeth when they approach each other while chewing or speaking or closing mouth or at rest. With the continuous use of teeth for decades, they are likely to wear off. Also, the probability to have broken teeth and missing teeth in the mouth also demands its restoration and replacement respectively.

Teeth Occlusion may be of following types

  1. Static Dental Occlusion refers to the relationship between the upper and the lower teeth when at Rest or when the Jaw is Closed.
  2. Dynamic Dental Occlusion refers to the relationship of the upper and the lower teeth when the jaw is moving like while speaking, eating and yawning. Also known as Articulation.
  3. Centric Dental Occlusion is the relationship between the upper tooth touching the lower tooth for the first time. It may or may not coincide with the position when maximum upper and lower teeth touch each other.
